Cutting Edge Technology for Equestrians

101 Dressage Exercises becomes a Phone App!

Time-honored exercises to develop horse & rider ... now on your phone

Leading the movement towards online educational materials, 101 DRESSAGE EXERCISES FOR HORSE & RIDER by Jec Ballou is now available to riders, trainers, and coaches at their fingertips with new mobile phone app 101 DRESSAGE.

With the launch of the 101 DRESSAGE mobile app, riders, trainers, and coaches can now have the exercises from top-selling book 101 DRESSAGE EXERCISES FOR HORSE & RIDER by Jec Ballou with them at all times.   Plus, this mobile app goes beyond the book to provide new features and ways to construct an optimal training and learning experience.  It is specially formatted for use on iPhones, iPads, iTouches and Android Phones.

101 Dressage was just launched on October 26, 2010, and already sales have been brisk, including sales in Belgium, Germany, Australia, the U.K, and Chile.

"For years I've struggled, and I suspect many others have as well, with trying to remember the exercises my instructor wants me to work on as well as the details of each exercise.  Now anyone with an Apple or Android smart device I can call up any exercise, anytime, anywhere" says app creator and CEO of Unbridled Rider.com, Stephanie Boyles.

Boyles collaborated with Storey Publishing, Jec Ballou and app-developer mobileXware to convert this book, a bible for dressage exercises, into a phone app.  "We're all so happy with how the app turned out" says Ballou, "it just seems like a natural complement to the book.  The feedback we're getting from early users is overwhelmingly positive."
The mobile app epitomizes simplicity, flexibility and ease-of use.  Presenting the 101 exercises like a deck of cards, users can navigate through the collection of exercises with the touch of a finger.  Exercises are organized into color-coded categories of horse & rider goals such as straightness, lightness, building power.  For more fun and variety, the app features a "Surprise Me" option that offers up one of the 101 exercises at random.

In the book 101 DRESSAGE EXERCISES FOR HORSE & RIDER, dressage trainer and coach Jec Ballou developed a comprehensive collection of exercises that cover fundamental riding goals.  Designed to help riders develop themselves and gymnasticize their horses, mastering these types of exercises is a prerequisite to the development of a harmonious horse/rider partnership, the type of partnership needed for successful competition. The patterns are appropriate for all levels of riders, progressing from the most basic to the most complex.   All riders interested in enhancing their performance, including Western riders, will find these foundational exercises useful.

Above all, since the 101 dressage exercises are on the phone, they're always accessible - whether at the barn, at home, or on-the-go, giving riders the option to make progress even when they've got just a few minutes to spare.  "We at Storey Publishing are very excited about offering the book's content in this way and see this as the first in a series of SmartPhone apps that we will be offering the market," said Pam Art, President of Storey Publishing.
