chris newtonDr. Chris Newton with a patient during a farm call. Dr. Newton is one of the ambulatory, or field, veterinarians at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital. To say he's busy is an understatement. The iconoclastic doctor and champion equestrian (who meditates and yet is also addicted to his Blackberry) specializes in reproduction, but does a multitude of other things: lameness treatment, physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic, and special projects such as consulting on the design of a prosthetic hoof.

Love this photo!  The "patient" looks so relaxed, so trusting...

what does Dr Newton say about his education and how hard it was? I am planning to go to vetrinary school and want to specialize in reproduction as well just wondering if he had any tips?

Hi Alina - I emailed Dr. Newton for a response to your question and he zipped this back via Blackberry:

"Work hard, stay focused, and enjoy the process. Cn"

Also, fyi, I have a chapter solely about him in the forthcoming book, as well as chapter about another of the hospital's repro specialists, Dr. Michelle LeBlanc.

He's also self-involved, dope smoking cuckold.
