• News: The first round of the US Show jumping selection trials for this year's Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games are complete, and we have a long list of 15 horses that will spend the summer jumping in Europe, before the team is finalized in September.
• News: Former 2010 radio show guest and National Champion Driver Chester Weber got his year off to a good start last weekend. Driving the team that he hopes to field at the Alltech FEI 2010 World Equestrian Games later this year, Weber competed against an international field at the Sunshine State FEI Combined Driving Event at the Florida Horse Park, and finished the three phase competition 24 points ahead of second placed Jamie Fairclough. This is Chester's second WEG qualifying win, and he now heads to the Live Oak International in Ocala on March 24 -28th to defend his National Title.
• News: Sadly, the reigning individual World Champion of Eventing, Zara Philips, will not be coming to the Kentucky Horse Park to defend her title on her fantastic horse Toytown this September.
• News: There have also been some changes announced to the Reining Qualifications procedures for the Alltech FEI 2010 World Equestrian Games.
• News: The USEF Selection Procedure and Application for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games Endurance Team are now available online at the USEF website, and the application to request a Wild Card invitation is also available.
• News: Tickets went on sale last Friday for the Celebrity Chef series of dinners to be held each night during the Alltech FEI 2010 World Equestrian Games at the Farmhouse, the charming and conveniently located restaurant within the grounds of the Kentucky Horse Park.
• News: The Purina Live from Lexington Contest is an opportunity for horse lovers everywhere to showcase their blogging skills for a chance to attend, and report live from, the Alltech FEI 2010 World Equestrian Games, here at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky.
• News: The Spotlight Lexington Festival, which will entertain locals and visitors downtown during the Alltech FEI 2010 World Equestrian Games, has announced Coca-Cola as it's newest sponsor.

• News: The US Jumper selection trials for the Alltech FEI 2010 World Equestrian Games are well under way in Wellington, Florida, and currently in the lead are Lauren Hough and Laura Kraut, both on a penalty score of zero.
• News: Irish show jumping manager Robert Splaine has declared his team that will take place in the four star Florida Nations Cup on Friday evening. In alphabetical order the team is, Kevin Babington riding Souvenir, Darragh Kenny on Obelix and Gale Force, Richie Moloney riding Brooke van de Zuuthoeve, and Shane Sweetnam with Rolette and Zamiro 16. All of the team are based here in the USA.
• News: This last weekend saw many of the A and B listed US eventing combinations running at Pine Top in Georgia. From all reports it seems that cross country on Sunday caused quite a few problems.
• News: Dressage Canada is pleased to announce that they have nominated Gwynne Rooke as the Chef d'Equipe for Canada's dressage team heading to the Alltech FEI 2010 World Equestrian Games.
• News: Horse Sport Ireland has launched it's "Team Ireland Equestrian" brand, which will be worn by all Irish equestrian riders across all Olympic disciplines leading up to the London Olympics in 2012, and of course including this year's Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Follow them on Facebook.
• News: The Breyer Horse Models have been everywhere in the news lately, especially Esprit, the official Alltech FEI 2010 WEG model.

• News: US para-equestrian team members are seeking horses for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. This is the first time that the para-equestrian world championships will be run concurrently with the seven other FEI disciplines. Please email Hope Hand with any further questions.
• News: One of the latest official blog entries from the Alltech WEG Foundation Office is from German para-equestrian Angelika Trabert, and it's incredibly inspiring. The Alltech FEI blog has been great reading lately with their athlete postings, and at the beginning of the month they featured none other than our very own reiner, Lisa Coulter, so be sure to check that out.
• News: Maker's Mark, the world's oldest operating bourbon distillery, has been named the official bourbon of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.
• News: The United States Equestrian Federation Ad Hoc Committee on Selection has approved naming the horse/rider combination of Sapphire and McLain Ward to the Show Jumping Long List for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.
• News: The World Games 2010 Foundation has announced the availability of "World Equestrian Radio", a personal radio service complete with a souvenir radio receiver, to spectators at this year's Games here in Lexington. The World Equestrian Radio personal radio receiver will allow users to listen to live commentary and information while viewing a specific event or discipline. Click here to order radio receivers.
• News: Tickets went on sale last week for The Temptations, who are coming to Frankfort, Kentucky as part of the Alltech Fortnight Festival, and will play the Grand Theatre on the 25th and 26th of September.
• News: Horse Capital Productions and HRTV, a 24 hour broadcast television and broadband network dedicated to horseracing and horse sports, have reached an agreement for the network to serve as a presenting sponsor of the 2010 International Equestrian Festival.
• News: Equimania!, part of Equine Guelph, and an interactive traveling education centre for youth, is crossing international borders for the first time and will make it's presence known at the Kentucky Horse Park during the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. The 5,500 lb exhibit has been invited to be the center for youth equine education over the 16 days of competition.

• News: Equine Canada has named Lauren Barwick of Aldergrove, BC, as the inaugural recipient of the Equine Canada President's award. As an individual gold and silver medalist at the 2008 Paralympic Games, Barwick is not only Canada's most successful para-equestrian athlete in history, but is also a powerful ambassador for equestrian sport.
• News: Venezuelan show-jumper Pablo Barrios finally hit the jackpot on saturday night, winning the $150,000 World Cup Grand Prix at Wellington. Barrios has been in the money consistently for the last 8 years but this was his first major win, and it was particularly impressive, as he crossed the finish line nearly four seconds faster than second place finisher, American Jefferey Welles on Armani.
• News: Sultan Ahmad Al Beloushi recently won the prestigious His Highness The President's Cup in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates in record breaking time, while the United States were represented by Ellyn Rapp and Jeremy Reynolds.
• News: Meanwhile, over in England, Endurance GB has set up a series of non-competitive rides in an effort to raise funds to send teams over to compete here at the World Equestrian Games.
• News: The American Endurance Ride Conference will hold it's annual Convention and Trade Show this weekend in Reno, Nevada, and it will include a presentation covering the US Endurance Team High Performance Programme aimed at the 2010 World Equestrian Games.
• News: Due to the success of it's Equine News and Brews meeting series last year, Alltech will be resuming the free public programme this month with an educational focus on the upcoming Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.
